Every Hatchery exhibition is produced by artists and volunteers: from scooping up cow poop to Facebook promotion, we have done it all. Of course, cash money is necessary for a few items. In 2011, our Indiegogo campaign brought in enough to produce East of Fresno; in 2010, Ticket Pickings, our signature raffle of small art works, supported Free Range. Our great big list of people who have made work, money, and art contributions small and large is inscribed on a wall in the Hatchery — the Ant Trail!
This year, we’ve decided to make The Hatchery: Fortress a rock-bottom cash-money event. Here’s what we need: a portapotty, event insurance, postcards and posters, help with documentation and cleaning the building (sometimes even artists can’t do everything!). We’ll ask visitors to the exhibition to make a donation, and we hope you will help us now to get this project underway.
